Minofmeer
Design with purpose and adaptability. Minofmeer crafts narrative-led furniture and objects through research, prototyping, and material exploration in wood, bamboo, rush grass, and metals .
A short bio.
Riaan Burger founded Minofmeer in Taiwan in 2017 after studying Chinese and industrial design. The studio is built on one idea: design should adapt to its context, sometimes less (MIN), sometimes more (MEER). The studio balances simplicity and complexity to create furniture and crafted objects that are both intentional and dynamic.

How we work
Design more or design less
Subtract where honesty serves the piece; add where structure or story requires it.
Triangularities applied
Trilingual, cross-cultural perspectives inform forms that resonate across contexts.
Active art
Making is thinking: hand processes carry memory forward while preparing methods for what's next.
Halleluja (!)
Seek the moment where structure, material, and story click.
Embrace all change
Iterate through tests and refinements; durability and meaning come from evolution.
Narrative is king
Every piece begins with a story; discover the narrative or create a new one.
Furniture design
Research-led pieces balancing structure, comfort, and narrative, often informed by historical and cross-cultural references.
Craft design
Hands-on experimentation with joinery, weaving, and fabrication across wood, bamboo, rush grass, metals, and hybrid materials.
Gallery installations
Site-specific works and limited editions that test materials, scale, and storytelling in an exhibition context.
Materials research and prototyping
Molds, templates, mockups, and finishing to refine structure, tactility, and durability.
Design education
Process-led making, documentation, and presentation taught through hands-on classes.
